NCAPA issued the following statement on the departure of Krystal Ka’ai as the Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, and the promotion of Helen Beaudreau, who will succeed her in the role:
“NCAPA is proud to honor the exceptional leadership and dedication of Krystal Ka’ai. During her time at WHIAANHPI, where she served as the first Executive Director of Native Hawaiian descent, Krystal made countless contributions to the AANHPI community – working tirelessly to drive progress and open up opportunities for our communities around the country. From pushing for data equity for AANHPIs and greater inclusion of Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders, to fighting anti-Asian discrimination, Krystal has undoubtedly been a steadfast champion on the issues that matter most to our community, and we thank her for her years of service.
We also want to congratulate Helen Beaudreau, who brings her own tremendous pedigree as a dedicated public servant as she begins her role as the new Executive Director of WHIAANHPI. We’re thrilled to continue the next chapter of this critical partnership with the White House together.”
Based in Washington, D.C., the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans is a coalition of forty-one national Asian Pacific American organizations. We represent the interests of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) communities and provide a national voice for our communities’ concerns.
