Washington, D.C.—The National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA) issued the following statement applauding former NCAPA Policy Director Nisha Ramachandran’s selection as the executive director of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC).
The National Council of Asian Pacific Americans warmly congratulates Nisha Ramachandran’s historic selection as the first South Asian to lead the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus as its executive director. Nisha Ramachandran assumes this well-deserved role in a critical moment for our communities, and NCAPA is confident that she is highly qualified to lead CAPAC in advocating for Asian Americans and Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders (AA and NHPIs).
Nisha Ramachandran is a long-time advocate and trusted friend of our AA and NHPI communities. She has nearly a decade of leadership experience and policy expertise working both on Capitol Hill and with AA and NHPI advocacy organizations, including previously serving as NCAPA’s policy director and consultant. NCAPA is excited to continue working alongside Ms. Ramachandran as CAPAC’s new executive director and welcomes her leadership in advancing equity and justice for our communities.
