Washington, DC — The National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA) issued the following statement in support of President Biden’s nomination of Dilawar Syed as Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
NCAPA National Director, Gregg Orton:
“We commend President Biden for nominating Dilawar Syed to serve as Deputy Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Mr. Syed’s decades of experience in business and public service, as well as his commitment to uplifting marginalized communities, make him an outstanding candidate for this critical role.
Mr. Syed’s dedication is demonstrated through his prior experience advocating for the AANHPI community on the White House Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) and chairing the White House Initiative on AAPIs’ Economic Growth Committee in the Obama Administration.
We urge the Senate to swiftly confirm Dilawar Syed as the next Deputy Administrator of the SBA. The small business owners and entrepreneurs who rely on the SBA deserve the leadership and expertise that Mr. Syed can provide.
Based in Washington, D.C., the National Council ofAsian Pacific Americans is a coalition of thirty-eight national Asian Pacific American organizations that represent the interests of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) communities and to provide a national voice for our communities’ concerns.
