RELEASE DATE:
November 16th, 2021
Washington, D.C.—NCAPA issued the following statement after the signing of the Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act. This bipartisan infrastructure framework constitutes a once-in-a-generation investment in our infrastructure and climate resilience.
The National Council of Asian Pacific Americans is thrilled to see critical investments in our nation’s infrastructure and economic recovery. This Bipartisan Infrastructure Plan will invest billions of dollars in public transportation, high-speed internet, clean energy, and more provisions that will create tangible impacts on the lives of many Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders.
We urge Congress to continue its progress and move swiftly to pass the Build Back Better Act in order to deliver both the physical and social infrastructure, including long overdue immigration reform, that working families and communities of color deserve.
