All those interested in rent reporting as a credit-building strategy for low-income tenants are welcome to attend. It may be of particular interest to CA-based organizations as a result of California Senate Bill 1157, which passed last year and mandates that subsidized housing landlords offer rent reporting starting July 1, 2021. Housing providers are well poised to implement rent reporting —the reporting of tenants’ rental payments to the credit bureaus. Rent reporting, an evidence-based and impactful strategy that helps renters build credit, is gaining traction around the country. Recently, California passed the first bill in the nation to require that landlords of subsidized housing developments make rent reporting available to residents. During this webinar, Credit Builders Alliance will share how rent reporting works, lessons learned from affordable housing providers, details on the California bill, and highlight ways that affordable housing providers can get involved in building the rent reporting movement. Join us whether you are new to the rent reporting or have been considering it for years!
