NCAPA, in partnership with APIAVote and AAPI Data, Launches New Toolkit to Inform Election Outreach with the AAPI Community
As the fastest-growing electorate group in the country, AAPIs are poised to be a powerful voice in the 2026 midterm elections.
APIAVote and AAPI Data, in partnership with the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA), are excited to announce the launch of the 2026 AAPI Voters Data and Narrative Toolkit, a timely resource compiling the latest data on AAPI voters alongside field-tested messaging guidance for community organizations, media, and funders.
The data shows that AAPIs are fast-growing, civically engaged, and poised to play a pivotal role in the midterm elections. With over 16 million eligible voters, AAPIs are the fast-growing group in the nation’s electorate and have shown record increases in voter turnout over the last decade. Heading into 2026, AAPI voters are positioned to play a decisive role in competitive races across the country.
“For years, APIAVote has worked alongside community partners to understand what motivates AAPI voters and what helps them participate. This toolkit brings together data and lessons from the field into one practical resource, helping organizations communicate more effectively, reach voters more authentically, and strengthen civic participation in communities across the country,” said Christine Chen, Executive Director of Asian & Pacific Islander American Vote (APIAVote)
The toolkit draws on data-driven insights from APIAVote’s field team, AAPI Data’s partnership with Associated Press and NORCE, as well as findings from the 2026 Policy Priorities Survey conducted with NCAPA. While AAPI communities are diverse and complex, public opinion data show a remarkable level of solidarity and consistency in issue priorities across groups.
“Across the board, the data reveals that our communities are deeply concerned about issues such as affordability—which includes affording groceries, housing, and healthcare—as well as immigration,” said Karthick Ramakrishnan, founder and executive director of AAPI Data. “Campaign messaging needs to emphasize that the outcomes of these elections will be consequential to issues that matter most to AAPIs.”
Beyond the data, the toolkit also offers outreach strategies and best practices for field engagement as well as core messaging points that organizations can use to directly engage with AAPI voters.
“As the fastest-growing electorate, AANHPI voices will help shape the future of our democracy. Using data, we can better understand how to reach community members and what issues they care about,” said Gregg Orton, National Director of the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA). “This toolkit provides key information and messaging to help advocates effectively engage AANHPI voters, connect policy issues to people’s daily lives, and increase civic participation in communities across the country.”
