STOP AAPI HATE
We are calling on federal and local governments, companies and organizations, and leadership of all kinds to help put an end to AAPI Hate.
AAPI Hate is nothing new. While the Covid-19 pandemic has created a sharp increase in anti-Asian sentiment and violence against our communities, racism and xenophobia are deeply rooted in US history, both of which AAPIs are no stranger to.
We are not a monolith. AAPIs make up the fastest growing demographic group in the country. The 23 million AAPIs living in the United States and its territories are made up of East Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Isander communities.
Our communities are still hurting. AAPIs have already been disproportionately affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. At the onset, we were hit hardest economically and experienced higher Covid-19 infection and mortality rates than other minority groups. This is especially true among the Native Hawaiin and Pacific Islander community.
We will not be silent. In our efforts to recover from the ongoing pandemic and rise in hate incidents, we must use our voices to aid and uplift those most impacted, particularly NHPIs, women, and our elderly.
