The National Council of Asian Pacific Americans Submits Policy Priorities for the 116th Congress
Washington, DC—Washington, DC—The National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA) recently submitted to Congressional leadership and other key Congressional offices their policy priorities for the 116th Congress. The priorities reflect the collective work of all NCAPA member organizations through NCAPA’s policy committees: civil rights, immigration, healthcare, education and housing and economic justice. A copy of the letter submitted to Congress can be found here.
NCAPA National Director, Gregg Orton stated:
“As this new Congress begins, we call upon Congress to recognize the voices of the AAPI community in national policy debates. We believe our perspectives are important and the policy priorities we have submitted reflect the collective work of all 33 of our member organizations. We also recognize that in today’s hyper-partisan environment, progress requires a willingness to work together. We are asking Congress to work with us; and therefore welcome the opportunity to find common ground with Members on both sides of the aisle.”
